I just began a new fantasy series: The Great Library, by Rachel Caine.

First book is called Ink & Bone. Alternative reality about what the world might have become if the Library of Alexandria hadn’t been destroyed. When knowledge is power, who controls human knowledge, and how much control is too much?

Let’s Talk Books! meets next Tuesday, Dec 11, from 5:30-7. Bring nibbles or food if you would like some. We may have a few goodies to share as well.

I always tell my fellow students [mostly in California] that we are 90 minutes from the nearest Starbucks….

Bangor just closed their Starbucks. Now it’s Waterville.  It’s 100 miles to the nearest Starbucks.

I called this group intercultural communication because that is a course I am currently taking for the MLIS. Also, it seemed to dovetail with some deep conversations we’ve been having on FB.

However, I am not certain it is the ideal name for the group.  If anyone has other ideas, please discuss them….
